Would you trust a humanoid robot in a shop, hotel—or even a bank?
Google DeepMind recently introduced Gemini Robotics 2, a new AI model that helps robots understand instructions and turn visual and language inputs into physical actions. According to Google, it can control different types of robots, including full humanoid bodies.
But attracting attention is one thing. Earning customers’ trust is another.
People will naturally have questions:
* What information does the robot record, and how is it used?
* What happens if it misunderstands a request?
* Could it make services more accessible for people with disabilities or language barriers?
* Would customers feel supported or watched?
* Would it always be possible to speak with a real person?
The answer may also depend on the setting. Asking a robot for directions in a shop is very different from discussing a hotel complaint or personal finances in a bank.
In our opinion, humanoid robots make the most sense in technology-focused companies, where they can complete repetitive and practical tasks that do not involve private information or emotionally sensitive situations.
Robots can be useful and make some services more efficient. At the same time, we believe we will appreciate human work even more as robots become more common.
Technology can support us, but it cannot replace human empathy, understanding and connection. Nothing can fully replace the human touch.
